“Improv is the art of making the ordinary extraordinary” -- Improv club will focus on short form improvisational comedy, which involves games and short scenes inspired by audience suggestions. We will focus on and develop skills in listening, teamwork, confidence, creativity, and spontaneity. During each session, students will work in small, independent groups or as one big group to explore improv games and exercises. Experienced improvisers often lead through example, and may have more “stage time.” All students are expected to be active, respectful listeners when they are participating as the audience for their peers. No previous experience is necessary.

Location: ZOOM
Description: Short Description:
Join us for: Ask the Graduates Hi TBS Community,
This Thursday from 7-8p, TBS will be virtually hosting recent graduates to hear about their current experiences at a variety of Bay Area high schools! They'll share about their experiences of transitioning to ninth grade and the ways in which their time at TBS prepared them for their educational journeys. I've enjoyed this event for the last several years and, as a former teacher on both TBS campuses, love hearing from former students about how they're flourishing beyond 8th grade! No need to RSVP - simply follow this Zoom link at 7p to attend! You'll have the opportunity ask questions through the Zoom chat, as Mitch will be moderating a Q&A.

MLK Jr. Day of Service
MLK Jr. Day of Service
Starts: 9:00 am
Ends: January 19, 2026 - 2:00 pm
Location: UAC Campus
Description: Short Description:
On Monday, January 19th, TBS will have a 'day off' from school in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. To honor Dr. King's legacy of community and justice, TBS is hosting our annual MLK Jr. Day of Service to make it a 'day on' of volunteering and giving with community.
At the University Avenue Campus, we will be hosting an essential supplies donation drive, where you can drop off new or gently-used items from this list of requested items, to be distributed to organizations serving those in need.
We will also be helping connect TBS families with one other to coordinate attending volunteering events with local organizations. A list and sign up will be posted and updated.
Coretta Scott King said, “The greatest birthday gift my husband could receive is if people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds celebrated the holiday by performing individual acts of kindness through service to others.” I hope this Monday, January 19th, you will join to “receive the gift of giving” through serving others. As we teach our children, it feels good to do good! I look forward to spending time with you to uplift the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and all the causes he, and many others, championed for justice.
