Creating Personalized Learning

“What matters in education is what matters in life”

Individual Learning Approach

Our personalized approach to learning forms responsive teacher-student relationships that help each child feel seen, supported, and known, equipping them to be engaged learners for life.

Dynamic Instructional Framework

Inspired by Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Project Zero, our curricula and teaching approaches combine developmentally appropriate rigor with hands-on learning and creative exploration. We prepare students for a lifetime of curiosity-driven critical thinking and collaboration.

Real World Learning

Since 1963, The Berkeley School has led the East Bay in real-world, experiential learning. A long history of civic engagement and community partnerships has embedded engaging with the outside world as a key element in each student’s learning and growth.

Community & Belonging

To engage the world successfully, students need both core subjects and core values. Our equity and inclusion practices create the feeling of belonging that all humans need and all children deserve and sustain our diverse, joyous community.
