We are excited to announce transportation will be available for the 26/27 school year! LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE – make sure to inquire today to secure your spot! We will be picking up students at the following BUSD schools:
Rosa Parks Elementary
Washington Elementary
Malcolm X Elementary
Berkeley Arts Magnet (BAM)
Transportation is $300 a month in addition to The Depot tuition.
The Depot staff meets Oxford Elementary students at their school and walk them up to The Berkeley School’s University Avenue Campus.
Other families are responsible for arranging transportation on their own. We encourage carpools, parenting adults taking turns leading walking groups, and taking kids on public transportation—a useful life skill! AC Transit lines 51 and 52 stop nearby and we are closest to the North Berkeley BART station.
BUSD may be able to provide transportation from BUSD elementary schools but HopSkipDrive and KangoApp are alternatives if your child needs transport to TBS. More information here.
The Depot program follows the BUSD academic calendar, which runs from August 12th, 2026 to June 3rd, 2027. Depending on your student’s dismissal time, hours are 1:30-6, 2:20-6, or 3:20-6.
This is the table for proposed costs for the full 26/27 academic year from August 12th to June 3rd:
TBS is committed to meeting the demand for high quality after-school programming by opening our campus to TK-6th grade students in our community. The Depot offers plentiful opportunities for free play, snacks, arts and crafts, and Spanish classes.

The Berkeley School’s domed building, built in 1904 as the Santa Fe Depot, is a City of Berkeley historic landmark: a locus of arrivals and departures, connection and change. It’s a well-known landmark on University Avenue and it embodies our welcome of the broader community into The Berkeley School. The Depot supports participants through their individual and collective journey of growth in developmentally appropriate, engaging, and inclusive ways!
Please email us at thedepot@theberkeleyschool.org for more information about our programming and fees.
