Cerrito Feast
Cerrito Feast
Starts: 8:30 am
Ends: December 18, 2025 - 3:00 pm
Description: Short Description:
5th Annual Cerrito Feast 2025 Hello Cerrito Families!
It was great to have family and friends join us in the classrooms for VIP day, so great that we want to welcome you back on Thursday, Dec. 18th for our Cerrito Feast! Save the date!
The Cerrito Feast is a 4th and 5th grade tradition of students cooking and serving a meal of gratitude for parenting adults. The meal will be a vegan-friendly, stone soup-style meal, where each student will contribute an ingredient, and we will cook it the morning of the feast. Students may have two guests come to the meal, which will be from 12:30-1:30. Students will make their contribution selection early next week.
Please RSVP in the comments (link to Sam's Parent Square Post here) how many guests your child will have and their names, if known.
We are always in need of a few helpful extra adults during the meal prep to help guide students, demonstrate knife skills, and generally help out. Some basic kitchen skills are helpful, and if you have experience cooking for a crowd, even better but not necessary! If you would like to help cook or clean up, please also indicate that in the comments below. (link to Sam's Parent Square Post here)
Looking forward to seeing you then!
Samantha

Starts: 3:35 pm
Ends: December 18, 2025 - 4:30 pm
Description: Short Description:
Starting Monday, September 29th, we are running Good Work (Homework Club) for additional, supported time for 4th-8th grade students to complete assignments and bolster study skills. These will be run by Fordy Shoor, Middle School English teacher, and Chris Chun, K-8 Division Head.
This is what you need to know:
-
Mondays (Chris) and Thursdays (Fordy) after school
-
3:35-3:45 Time in ExDay for a body break before getting back down to work
-
3:45-4:30 Good Work in the Map classroom.
-
Students do not need to stay for the entire time, and can be picked up earlier if needed. Students who finish work early may choose to stay in Good Work and work on quiet activities such as reading, or join ExDay
-
Snacks will be provided because no one does good work when they’re hungry! Students are also welcome to bring their own snacks.
-
4th and 5th grade students enrolled in full-time ExDay do not pay an additional fee. Students who are not enrolled in full-time ExDay will be billed at the ExDay rate.

Jan. 8, 15, (22 = make-up if needed)
Spend an afternoon working with a variety of low- and high-tech tools in the makerspace! Explore more with cardboard, 3D design, crocheting amigurumi, laser cutting, screen printing, duct tape, virtual reality, and more! We spend our time making things, documenting new processes, visiting local makers, and preparing for our public events. The club consists of student-directed, unstructured, collaborative exploration (mostly) independent of teacher instruction. It is suitable for students with a compatible learning style including a tolerance for frustration, initiative to find age-appropriate projects and collaborate, willingness to persist in problem solving, and respect for space and community under limited supervision. Students are expected to be actively making and learning and not passively consuming media (ie: memes and video games). Some service to the club is expected. If you have questions re: Maker Club being a good fit, please contact info@tinkercoop.org. Snacks & all materials included.
