Our Approach
At The Berkeley School, our early childhood program is rooted in our mission to:
- Ignite Curious Minds
- Awaken Generous Hearts
- Engage a Changing World
We center every aspect of our work on the unique needs, strengths, and interests of the children in our care.
What Guides Us
- Child-Centered Learning: We honor children’s ideas, creativity, and individuality through hands-on, intentional experiences.
- Montessori Roots, Modern Integration: Our curriculum blends Montessori with Reggio Emilia, play-based, and inquiry-driven approaches.
- Relationship-Based Education: Strong teacher-child connections build trust, spark social-emotional growth, and foster a love of learning.
- Connection to Nature: Outdoor classroom exploration and engagement are key to student experience. We are a certified wildlife habitat!
- Values in Action: Creativity, community, joy, and wonder are woven into everyday learning.
